Sean John Takes Macy’s by Storm

Designer Sean Combs has recently inked an exclusive deal with Macy’s Department stores to carry his Sean John men’s line starting this October. Macy’s will also establish Sean John shops in its flagship stores in New York City, Miami, Chicago, and California as part of the deal. The deal was announced in NYC at The Standard Hotel by designer Sean Combs, Macy’s chairman and CEO Terry Lundgren, and Macy’s chief merchant Jeff Gennette. Sean John is currently in 400 Macy’s outlets and through this deal the line could possibly go to all of the stores in the chain. If so Sean John will join the ranks of other exclusive brands carried by Macy’s such as Tommy Hilfiger, Diesel, and Ellen Tracy just to name a few. Combs is quoted as saying that his Sean John line has made a billion dollars with Macy’s and he wants to make billions more. He also went on to say that he got his start at Macy’s selling shirts and ties at 16 in the New Rochelle, NY store and that to come full circle like this is a dream come true. His Sean John Fifth Avenue flagship store will of course continue to carry his men’s line as well.
